I bricked my NAND ps3 40gb long ago and i cant remember how i bricked it, probs while installing some cfw. Since it's a NAND i don't have the skills to flash the firmware to it.Here's a video of the ps3:

Is there a different way to do it?

One weird thing is that it turns on as soon as i let it have power, even if i flip the switch up and down

I have all the backups, so whats the easiest way to flash it, i have never soldered before or did anything like it?

You'll need to install an E3 flasher and flash the NAND back.
It's your only option.

I'd say pay someone to do it for you.

Teensy* or Progskeet*
E3 is NOR only

I highly recommend you look for a PS3 NAND flashing service if possible.
Soldering isn't something you can perform easily.

Otherwise, sell it and buy a new Slim PS3 at 3.55. Slim is better unless you're looking for a B/C Phat for the PS2 Cobra stuff

E3 is also for NAND.
Requires soldering.
Cobra works on PS3s even without BC hardware in it.

E3 is NAND too? That's news to me.

PS2 COBRA on non-B/C is imperfect, you won't be able to play some games like the entire .hack (Dot Hack) series as a example.
Having a B/C one solves all the issues on this.
It would be his choice if it's worth it if he decides to sell it and rebuy. Slim is better though in the long run
