Gaming Can I transfer a save file without updating?

Like the title says. I am trying to transfer a FF Tactics save file from my PsP to my Vita. Vita is however on 3.18, and has a legit copy of FF Tactics. Can I transfer the save without updating?

Make a savefile then export it to QCMA, there modify the save by putting your PSP save in the save folder, then finally transfer it back.
