You really should stop insulting them if they're trying to help. Piracy isn't a good thing to get your kids into.
If you read the thread closely, you'd see that I only have a bone to pick with those who either come back with smart ass remarks or criticism (not the constructive type)
THAT irks me.
QUOTE(8BitWalugi @ Jun 22 2011, 07:32 PM) And wouldn't it have been common knowledge that 3DS ROMs can't be played yet?
I don't know... is it? Besides having a real job and other responsibilities outside of it, do you think I have the time to keep an eye on when the new game consoles come out?
I'll answer that question for you ... no I don't.

Guys.. looking for a simple yes or no.

I've done some research and thus far it seems that playing 3DS game backups (on a 3DS console of course) using a flashcard is not possible.
My kid has been bugging me about buying a Zelda OOT game but I've been trying to hold off to see if I can spend my money on a flashcard instead and then d/l a ROM off the net.
My shields are weakening as the pressure from the kid increases, LOL.
So... is it possible and if yes, what would be the best flashcard to get in order to play them? Money is no object.

thanks!!!

You can use your flashcart as either a stylus or a button-presser. So YES, you can play 3DS games using a flashcart.

LOL... you had me there for a while.
POLSKA GOLA!

http://r4i-sdhc.com/ that company has a flashcart that runs on 3ds but doesnt run the roms yet... i know that this is useless but im pointing this site out ot you because thewy operate from montreal and china (wierd partnership?) so they can be easily contacted. but as many people have said before, no, you cant do the 3ds rom play on any carts yet i would advise just downloading a n64 emulator and ooc 64 rom and let your kid play it off a computer. *snip but seriously, that company has made the best progress so far and when they have 3ds rom support i seriously ressommend gettning one of those carts.

So basically you're telling a Zelda fan that he wouldn't be buying a retail version of a game in the future?

Wha..? Are you serious?
In the future, Zelda will be the least of his concerns as he enters an adolescent age. You know what I mean, right?..... yeah, I didn't think so.

Wha..? Are you serious?
I didn't know I wasn't in the adolescent age yet!
And even if it may be a bit hard for you to understand that, Zelda is not the least of my concerns.

Seems to me you're the stereotypical parent who thinks the young people are uncultivated.
Either that, or you're a troll.

What?
Why should we choose a R4 when pretty much every other decent cart can run on 3DS?

OK, let me take a stab at it - LEGO blocks?

LOL... believe you me, I'm actually a really nice guy. If you had met me in person, you'd never believe I'm the guy behind all these posts.
It's just that I get irritated by people who think that they can pester this old dog with their (sometimes childlish) comments.
I'll be more than happy to carry a civilized conversation but some of the responses (yours and others) left themselves WIDE open for me to fire back. You guys really need to think twice before you respond because you never know who will be at the other end of this conversation, and if you start mouthing off then you might as well expect the unexpected because the person you're responding to may not be someone around your age or someone who is conducive your sense of humour.
Now, I don't know how old you are and I don't really care. I was your age once and I used to be a smart ass, but I quickly learned to change the tone of my conversation when talking to my elders. Bindair Dundat.
When I wrote my initial post, I believe I did mention I had kids and such... that should have been your first clue (uh oh, old guy) to give me a straight yes or a no, or say absolutely nothing at all because my question had already been answered by two other members who gave me simple answers in a mature way. Instead, you had to pipe in with your remarks and I could not resist to speak up. Yeah, I should have been more mature and shut the heck up, it's just that I was hoping you'd take it as a joke and the thread would have been closed. But nooooo...

Thanks for the info. I'll keep it in my sights!

It's probably the latter.
Your point of view has already been noted. No need to repeat yourself.

I agree, there was no need at all. That said, that wasn't a statement of my point of view.

I agree I find it hard to believe that a grown man would carry on like this public. A bit of humility would go a long way.

Except adults aren't worth more than any other human beings. You seem to just be confirming my theory (Both of them actually, didn't think that would happen.)
And my post was valid. Why buy a flashcart when it would only be used for one game?

what did i walk into and

ya know respect goes a long way (not Pingouin 7) if you want to be treated with respect you must first give it. they were not treating you with disrespect at first they were having fun with a question asked a million times in the last 2 months(?).

I...don't understand. Are you looking for help, or are you looking to get some "kids" to "shut up" and "show some respect for elders"?

If it is the former you should already have gotten what you want - 3DS games work on what is called the '3DS mode' on the 3DS device, as distinct from "DS mode" (for DS games) and "DSi mode" (for DSi games of course, though those can often be played on DS mode just with decreased capabilities). Given that 3DS mode has not been hacked, i.e. only Nintendo can access it right now, you cannot play 3DS games on a flashcart, since no flashcart can access 3DS mode.

Flashcarts can access DS mode on 3DS, as previously mentioned, and so they can play DS games on the 3DS, but that's about it. Here is the list of flashcarts which are able to do this:

If it is the latter than I will only say that that is not the best of ideas. Regardless of how "young" or "immature" or even "smart-mouthed" he is, his opinion is his own, and ridiculing it as stupid, unwise and immature will serve no purpose except to get him defensive (or puzzled, or dismissive of your own opinions). I don't think you can change his opinions like that, and as you can see it's not effective in getting him to "shut up and listen to you as an elder" either. Or to get him or anyone else to respect you, for that matter.

(Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.)

Well dang, this thread isn't going to go anywhere constructive.

Thread closed because its pretty useless and the OP's question has been answered. But Im closing it mainly because of navaidstech's horrendous attitude.

Learn some forum etiquette for next time navaidstech.

And start acting your age too.
