yeah no gateway users have been bricked in over 2 years, there was a couple of reported DSTwo+ bricks (literally only seen 2) but afaik neither of the bricked consoles ended up in the hands of the resident hardmodders to verify and one of the people saying they were bricked was kinda shifty and looked to just be fear mongering with a pic off google image search

there was no fake gateway cards, only clones with different branding (orange3ds,3dslink,r4 gold deluxe and dstwo+)

You should be ok. People act like Gateway bricks people everyday but in reality it doesn't happen often.
