I would actually love to play a few virtual boy games, but I wouldn't even know where to get roms for them (well, I could probably find a place).
There is probably some random things that would mess it up on the DS, like how it was 3d or something... idk

Emulators on PC can handle the "3D" stuff just fine though. Now, the DS most likely couldn't fit a stereogram on the screen without scaling the whole thing down a bunch, and since the Virtual Boy already outputs at 384*224 (the DS is 256*192 per screen), this is a horrendous idea. It would have to use something like the old 3D books everyone had as kids that you had to wear those red/green glasses for. Or red/blue, if it follows the example of this image:

i've seen the vb go on ebay with a few games for under 30 bucks more than a few times. just buy one. umm but don't leave negative feedback based on the huge headache you will get.

I'm pretty sure that a emulator can create a ordinary 2D picture to display.
    Like Reality Boy. http://www.goliathindustries.com/vb/VBPic.html

AFAIK, its emulators on PC still have sound issues.

i bought the virtual boy on launch day for $170!. it's an awesome system, but had crap sales, marketing and game support and therefore failed. if nintendo could bring out a new system with 3d-like capabilities maybe it would do better today. hint: use more than 1 color. [IMG] and use lightweight lcd or oled shutter glasses!

that mario tennis game for it ruled though. the court really did feel like it went way back into the screen.

It would be kind of cool to see the original VB Wario Land as a WiiWare remake (or maybe a DS remake).

Yeah, I remember getting one as a bday present when it first came out. Tennis, Mario Clash, and 3D Tetris were great:) After it died they were selling the games for it for a $, so I picked up everything I didn't have. I pull it out every few years.

I wouldn't mind a DS remake of Mario Clash. You could do a lot of the perspective stuff just by scaling effects and what not.

Here is what it would look scaled to 256x192...

It failed when reports came out that the extended use of the Virtual Boy can cause eye damage and adversely affect your vision.

Did some research and found out what it was. How long did they sell that for I've never heard of it.

It came out in the summer of 1995 and was officially discontinued in 1996. It had one universally loved game- Wario Land which is supposed to be quite different from the GB versions. I've only played it a couple of times at a kiosk at Toys R Us. That was a long time ago too. I'd like to play it again!

The entire game list comprised of only 22 games:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Boy_games

There were supposedly some more games in development such as a Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country 2. There are some screens of Mario Land floating around:

The DKC2 port never got far enough for screens though:

Honestly what were they thinking with all that red? it's like looking into an optical mouse, the system would of been better if it had more colors then it might of been awesome.......

Making it color would have lost much of the 3d effect and would have over doubled the cost of the system. I had one, Red Alarm was fun and that Wario Land game ruled.

That's a good one! That's my favorite VB title.
