Which GTS? the 320mb/640mb? If so, definitely go with this 8800GT. If it's the new 256MB/512MB 8800GTS get those.

PCI-E 2.0 is compatible with PCI-E x16.

Wait. ATI has a new hybrid crossfire tech. You can match up any 3000 series card with any other 3000 series card, making future upgrading very easy. Buy a 3850 now, and a 4000 series card or later. They will work together, unlike the GS which you will have to remove when you get a new one.
