what don't you like about doom, the mechanics or the levels? you should give the earth PWAD a play.

http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=9627

you can boot it up using these instructions:

The latest hbmenu (0.4.0) allows you to pass command lines with .argv files, get it from http://devkitpro.org/hbmenu

Code:
dsdoom.nds -iwad doom2.wad -file earth.wad -save earth
open a basic txt file, put that info in it, then save as earth.argv

then in homebrew menu you launch the .argv file and not the dsdoom.nds file.

other FPS homebrew:
DS Heretic -- requires a slot-2 and a slot-1 with passme functionality
CQuake -- quake port
dualHexen -- hexen port
Quake -- first quake port for the ds (supports mods)
Quake II DS -- requires a slot-2 RAM expansion
Alien DS -- short 3 level "aliens" themed FPS
DawnSeekers -- 3D engine FPS
Wolf 3D -- wolf 3d emu

other Homebrew:
Anguan DS -- zelda like action/RPG
Animanatee -- animation and drawing
Another World -- another world/out of this world emu (adventure-platformer)
Arsenal -- top-down space shooter
Colors! -- drawing/painting
Comic Book DS -- convert and then read comics (full featured)
Detective DS -- adventure
DS Pack -- pacman arcade board emu (supports 70+ MAME ROMs)
DSx86 -- 186/286 DOS emulator
EarthShakerDS -- rewrite of the zx spectrum game
Inside The Machine -- platformer
JNKPlat -- platformer (level editor included)
Knytt Stories DS -- platformer
Lameboy DS -- gameboy and gameboy color emu
Lone Wolf DS -- choose your own adventure rpg books
Manic Miner: The Lost Levels -- platformer
NeoDS -- neogeo arcade emu
NesDS -- NES/FDS emu
Open Tyrian DS -- top-down space shooter
Pocket Physics -- play with physics and dropping/falling/rolling objects
Powder rogue-like dungeon crawler RPG
Red Temple -- top-down adventure/puzzle
Ripholes in Rubbish -- platformer/adventure/puzzles
S8DS -- sega master system/gamegear emu
ScummVMDS -- ScummVM emu
Space Impakto DS -- space shooter
Still Alive Ds -- portal-like platformer
Take the Eggs -- puzzle
15th Floor -- escape the room adventure
World of Sand -- puzzle

i can probably come up with many more but that list should get you started.

Another world where can you get comics for the Comic Reader?

well im working on sandbox engine DS-DSi which is gonna be a 3d fps/conduit/halo/infamous/gta type game
(open world, multiple maps, multiple modes, possible multiplayer)
https://sites.google.com/site/t3gameszero/d...ine-ds-dsi-news

for finishes sandbox engine DS-DSi product im working on.
huge maps
multiple maps (atleast 8 or more) (updates will bring more tho) & if i find out how to use wifi DLC.
3 character modes (hand for interactions, weapon for guns ect, & psy for psychic powers moving objects)
graphics (looking to make them atleast look as good as halo DS did)
wifi(4 or 8 player local multiplayer, multicard or single card, & 4 or 8 player via wifi)

v005 may be the huge update. iv been researching on ho to do more things.

those are the primary goals, i need to do more reasearch for some of those tho like wifi.
but im also looking into android dev. my site now has a dreamcast & android section
yaynds.gif

dreamcast dev isnt coming any time soon tho, i have a post of my 1st android app tho.

FYI, most online comic book files are in .cbz or .cbr format, which PictoDS converts without having to do any technical formatting that .pdf files require...

you can convert PDF's to .CBDS using pictoDS
or download them from the link i PM'd you !

you can also convert the popular internet comic book trading formats: CBZ, CBR. you can also put a bunch of photos in a .rar without compression and rename it to .cbr.

I really like Visual Novel DS. The only thing is, the actual .novel files take up quite a bit of space on your SD card (600mb and up). ComicBookDS is good too, but I personally prefer Comical on my PC. Moonshell is a must-have, but almost all carts have it built in to their firmware, so I can safely assume you already have that. DSOrganize is a great little homebrew that acts as an OS of sorts... you can draw, go on IRC, browse your files on your SD card... etc, etc, etc. ALIENDS is a first person shooter. It has only like 2 levels, but its well done. DSReader is great for reading on the go. NitroTracker is also another great homebrew, and it acts as a synthesizer of sorts. It's similar to the retail DS game, KORG-DS10 Synthesizer (which is, by the way, excellent). VideoGamesHero acts as a guitar hero for gamers, and works very well (even though I'm terrible at it - ha). WabbitDS is a TI-83 emulator, and works well. Glubies Planet is also another good original homebrew game. Hope this helps.
