Hacking Bypass Wii Disc Drive Check

Is there a way to bypass the disc drive check on the classic Wii? I only use USB loading on this console and a week ago the disc drive went south. Homebrew works but backup loading, WiiWare and streaming apps are all stopped because of this stupid disc drive check. Any thoughts?
