It seems as though gamers nowadays want brand new games of their favorite franchise as soon as they beat the current ones.
I always like to go back to my favorite games and there are still so many games I missed because I didn't have the money at the time.
Also don't forget that your Wii is also a gamecube and there are tons of great stuff on there.

Why bother waiting for nintendo to go hardcore? It's not happening anytime soon, so just go back to the hits of the past and enjoy.

Damn this poll is so unnecessary. Only those who are blind and deaf would do something so dumb. Nintendo as many now view E3 as rubbish, an event for the mass media so Nintendo played that crap up instead which doesn't surprise me. While the conference did focus on AC, Snowboarding, and the essentially Wii Sports sequel...it did show some core stuff, and also the 2 primary things, the accessories are shit the CORE types have been bitching like babies about since seeing how lagged the swings in Red Steel were. Nintendo this gen has focused hard on giving 3rd parties the benefit of the doubt. On top of that when was the last time Nintendo put out that much of their A game in 1 years time? You got Mario Galaxy, Kart, BWii, Metroid, and more in short order which on the past two systems would have come over 2x as long or more. Could you really expect them having done all those games with their internal teams to have just as much a single less than a year later? If you (whoever you are) did...you're arrogant, whiny, and have no clue of development cycles and the manpower/time that goes into it.

Nintendo had on their end just an average show, they've done worse. But, if you play out what all the 3rd parties have on the floor right now this E3 week they had a LOT of quality 3rd party titles...finally.


...because of gum above I had to add this. He's right about Gamecube...and it has gems, many. I just picked up a new copy of Pikmin for $10 (technically $40 as I traded stuff in) 2 nights ago and that's so damn sugary sweet I could go into diabetic shock. I hated Pikmin 1 due to the brokeass radar, lame time limit being fast, and then the little guys dying if not returned before sundown. P2 if you're attached to them, they live...time is a bit longer, and the radar is very helpful...and the cave areas just are so fun. ...Find a lost (to you) gem and play today.

As many people in this thread have pointed out, there are a good deal of great games on their way to the Wii. Also, Miyamoto stated that they are working on new Mario, Zelda and Pikmin titles - those are probably still in early concept stages, but yeah, they're coming.
If there's such a thing as a sinking ship at the moment, it's the PS3 - evidenced by Square-Enix releasing FF XIII on the 360.

About how the Wii is starting to suck...*looks at games* HEY there's actually some games that are not casual now. Nothing too BIG but E3 still was a dissapointment. I still think that Wii will eventually be all casual, thus needing a PS3 or 360. But until then, the Wii is OK. But it would be cool if Wii had RE4 on steroids, in Africa, and GTA 4 so I could climb the skyscraper then jump off and see if I survive.

OK, I admit I should have been a little more patient, but I suck at doing that. Plus, I'm only a kid once and I don't plan on playing games as an adult, so that's why I want all the good games now. Umm, as for the poll, I was bored and wanted to post something... so that pretty sums that up so yah, anthing else need to be cleared up, or is it all good. Oh yea, I'd actually rather have a 360, but my family wants the PS3 so I'm stuck with it.

I think that after what that nintendo dude said in the interview (about E3 not being about announcing hardcore games anymore), this thread is pretty much pointless and unneccesary.

I do agree though this is pointless. After what Miyamoto said it really did fit with how they handled E3. E3 really isn't about the gaming industry on the whole as far as deep projects go as it's now a sad shadow of its former self surrounded by more of the mainstream media than the gaming unlike in the past. E3 really just needs to go away into a corner and die and just let Leipzig, GDC, Pax, the occasional Spaceworld, etc do the talking.

Oh and in my old post you quoted...I picked up Pikmin 2 not 1...1 sucked due to the busted radar and the deaths at the end of the day if you didn't return the little guys (not just have them attached and auto returned like P2 does.)

I dont have any of the next gen console but if the reason to sell your wii was to go and play the new GTA, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill 5 or Gears Of War 2 then I would buy the games for pc as at least 2 have been annouced for the PC and the others will follow.
