Hi,

Just to verify.
I have my eye on a few vitas with a lower firmware.
However the sellers tell me that if they want to reset it, the vita wants to update to 3.61 and ask me how to prevent that (as i am a noob on vita, I don't Know)

Well after Googling I must admit I could not find a definitive answer either.

So... How can you buy a 2nd hand lower firmware vita and give the seller the opportunity to delete his personal data/account.
And how can I as a buyer activate it without Sony forcing me to update

After the reset just skip the PSN part.

Yes I have PSN => Use Later => unactivated Vita with x.xx firmware => Update manualy to 3.60 (unless its below 3.18 for tn-v and tn-x) => Install Henkaku an activate the vita.

Groet, Denny

1. Make sure wifi is off
2. Reset device
3. tell him you will do the initial setup of the device yourself, since after a reset it should ask to be set up again
4. Do as Denny64 said on henkaku

I'm not 100% about part 3, but my experience with all other playstation devices tell me that.

Pretty much avoid setting up psn access

Thank you for posting this. It is extremely helpful. I am getting a second hand ps vita so I need to be able to do this as well.
