i've really been wondering whether or not i should buy Minecraft now .
i've seen many vids of it , commentators posting up gameplay of it . they make it look really fun , but i am just afraid that i might get bored easily and don't want to have wasted $20 (15 euros) . there seems to be more and more mods that get released , and there are a few interesting ones that i thought were really cool . The Mo' Creatures mod for one and a Labyrinth one where you complete a series of puzzles .

so now i am asking those who have actually gotten the game ,
are you guys still playing it ?

and also , do you think the beta will be done by June ?
i hope not , since that's when my birthday is , and if i don't plan on getting it now , i hope it's still the same price by June xD

It gets boring after awhile, yes, but that's with almost every game.
However, when you buy it you gain access to the Survival multiplayer (SMP) servers.
SMP makes Minecraft incredibly fun (if you find good servers) when singleplayer gets boring.

If you have a good internet connection & stuff & stuff, yes.
Oh, and I still play it.

Minecraft gets updated (bi) weekly, almost always with new content, besides that always bug fixes. And, as you've mentioned, there's the huge amount of available mods that will keep you interested for quite a while, especially when Mojang releases the modding API.
To sum it up: you get a huge package for only 20 bucks.

YES. BUY IT NAO. It is SO worth it. Minecraft is a lot of fun by itself, and if you get bored, you can download lots of mods, like you said.

And SMP is AMAZING.

Yes, it's worth the money. Pirating only gives you access to servers using custom auth servers (Like tempcraft), or servers running in offline mode (No authentication at all). I bought the game back in alpha, and I'll never regret my purchase.

However, notch has been slow on updates lately, although the last update was great (Better than the initial Beta update), and the next one is looking great as well (Wolves, stats/achievements, and hopefully more).

It may be one of the best game purchases ever. They keep adding more and more content, and they are going to keep adding more modes. If you get bored with it, just wait and they will add more modes for free, and it's like a whole new game.

The guy that developed Fable just said that it is the best game he's seen in the past 10 years...

YES. Buy it NOW.

Before the price goes up again. I bought it RIGHT before it changed to beta, I will NEVER regret my purchase. I love the game and can play hours on end.

It has so much things you can do, it never gets old. and the new upcoming update look sweet!

You never know when it is shifting to the next phase so get it before the price goes up again!

I downloaded it to try it and it's AMAZING. Once I got bored I added some (a lot of) mods to keep me busy. I can't buy it but the first chance I get (after I buy the 3DS) I'll buy it.

It's worth the price.

Also if you play online (and might I say, play online or don't buy it) then it's hard to get bored.
Single player is alright, mods redeem it a bit...but even with mods it's more boring then playing multiplayer on a good server. I started playing on a server back in october and i've been there ever since.

Yes. It is well worth the money.

I bought it for single player and I've already dumped at least 30 hours into it.

And with all games, if you get sick of the single player, when you add friends into the mix it becomes more fun. (or randoms if you have no friends.

It's definitely worth the money, even though I didn't buy mine. I'm currently using a friend's account to play the full version of Minecraft. I can't buy it, because my parents don't approve of me buying games. If I had a credit card, I'd definitely buy the game. The game would be MUCH, MUCH better if you played it with friends.

Do you have money of your own?
If so why not just buy one of those prepaid credit card "giftcards". Would allow you to buy things online without an actual credit card.
I use 'em just so I don't have to bother my parents for their card all the time.

I bought it about 2 days ago and am loving SMP, the only problem is alot of servers have white lists and then you have to waste your time getting on their site and making an account and an appeal to join the list but there are some good servers out there, and plus SSP is damn good as well but it can get boring without anyone else.

I bought it earlier this week, after having pirated and sunk dozens of hours into it. First game I've purchased since 2006, and worth every damn penny.
Couldn't agree more, I pirated the SP beta and created some awesome things, then I thought, I wonder what online is like, so I tried it out and it was as I expected, brilliant!

I tried it before buying. *cough*
I loved it, and thought he deserved the money.
I bought it once I got a debit card. In alpha of course.
