Anways ontopic: I ahve games that I wrote with 8x, 6x, 4x, and 2x. A few of the 2x games have sector issues because of the burn, but all the others work.

my 2 cents on the matter...
There is no 'perfect' write speed. It just depends on your drive/media combination. You just have to do some experimenting to find that 'sweet spot'. When someone says to burn at 2x no matter what, they are wrong, that just may be what works for them, and could possibly yield worse results for someone else.
