Hacking Bug fix for WiiGator Loader 0.3b

I'm happy to confirm: Every one of my games works flawlessly!

I own a PAL Wii, no modchip, I'm using WiiGator's 0.3 with this entryholder bugfix (commented 10 lines with the entryholder variable out).

Disaster: Day of Crisis - works, no problems loading stage 8
No More Heroes - works, does not crash on easternmost road (crashes without the bugfix every time, tested it 3 times)
Mario Kart Wii - works, played a whole cup, played 2 online races (didn't try it before)
Manhunt 2 - works, played a whole level (worked before)
Endless Ocean - works, dove in 2 areas (worked before)
Wario Ware - Shake Dimension - works, played 1 1/2 levels (worked before)

All games are 1:1 copies and PAL versions (NMH = NTSC converted to PAL)


Also, the loader starts up every (ok, I tried 3 of them) original game disc (Brawl, Mario Galaxy, RE:UC). Found out that the problem with this lies in the autostart channel. Maybe we can fix that, if someone needs this option (?) ...

Maybe we got the perfect loader now? I have to try some game that did never work... Maybe I can copy my Okami disc.
 
Meanwhile wiigator's next loader is now booting from the disc channel... wonder what you guys can do with the source for the next release once it goes public... gamecube games may not be so far off as originally thought. any word on starwars with the latest tweak you guys have made?



The next version will be called Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma:
- It will use the newer G****OS
- It includes support for the rebooter, so 1:1 backups are working with the disc channel (Including newer titles).
- Dual layer may not work.

Current state is:
"de Blob" works on PAL
"Star Wars - Force unleashed" seems to work on NTSC.
"Star Wars - Force unleashed" doesn't work on PAL.

I need more time to fix it.

can comfirm this is loading stage 8 of Disaster

@digitydogs -- any news on a release date dude???

been able to boot from the disc channel is the way to go especially since many peeps have young kids using the Wii..

i know you can use a channel version (i do myself) but i still luv the sound of this..Well done all involved...

Release Date unknown... just keep checking his blog. hell post a new update when it goes public, and before anyone asks no i'm not in private testing.

if this boots from disc channel at only 0.3g then btw the time we get to 1.0v i thinks its gonna be bye bye modchips to most people lol
 
im wondering if anyone can code the rebooter support into the current betas ios.... from the sounds of it thats all thats needed to get 1:1 games to load from the disc channel, especially seeing as how they already can be detected just not loaded from there.

This bug was a very little one and it seems to solve many issues with games which loaded but crashed at a certain location. *Forgot to mention: Waninkoko's loader does not have this bug* I think all other games now not working could only be corrected with a cios. There the games which use an old IOS, so the IOS36 does not fit on the one side and games which worked with the 0.1 loader and stopped working with the 0.3 loader on the other side. I'm not very good at this, but to me the 0.1 and 0.3 loader look very similar, the only real difference between them lies in the cios.
 
yeah i know its mostly all in ios now. It just seems we finally have people interested in contributing instead of just taking... so i got excited. time to work on that cios source, heh
