I got a psp slim star wars edition over the holidays and was getting out of the car and busted the screen. I no longer have the reciept from the store. The psp has custom firmware on it. Any suggestions on getting it fixed or replaced? I can't see the screen to replace the firmware. Will sony repair it with the custom firmware? How hard is it to replace myself? I found some sites selling replacements, but none that specified the slim model. Are the screens the same? Thanks.

Do you have a pandora battery? Cause if you use Despertar del Cementerio then you can just press O to install the official 3.71 firmware, doesn't require you to see anything as screen displaying didn't work on slims before version 3 either...

Thanks all, I ordered the replacemnt from deal extreme. Hope it won't be too tough to replace. The old psp screens looked pretty easy, but I have not found a vid of the psp2000 process. BTW Sony wanted 90$ to replace, some online guys would do it for 80, but 40 is worth spending a while and doing it myself if I don't break it more. I also got a hard case to help prevent this in the future, guy from the online repair place said he had people sending them in broken just from holding in hand and pressing a little on the screen, there's not as much protection on these screens as there was on the old model.

Here is a youtube guide for replacing your screen and as what I can see when you get to the end just go in reverse to re assemble

So I ordered the replacement screen in early Jan and still have not recieved it. Looks like they are in very small supply these day. Anyone know where I can order a replacement PSP slim screen that will actully ship it?

Is it the actual screen or just the case? The PSP has two layers. The outer case screen that protects the actual LCD behind it. If it's just the case then you can simply buy a new case for it.

Yea it's the LCD. Looks like black spiderwebs on 1/2 of the screen and the other half is dead. I can't find these on any site.
