Hardware Broken ribbon cable port

Whilst attempting to fix an unrelated issue, the grey plastic of the thumbstick's connector broke off and I lost it. Is there any way to fix this?

I found the plastic again but can't reconnect it

yes using a donor board to extract the connector, or if your are lucky search for it on digikey.

If you can solder well then maybe get parts off a donor board, if not replace the motherboard, that analog stick ain't going to work unless you replace the zif connector.
