Hacking Question Bricked Switch...

Hi I know this is dumb, I did it last year and had no idea what I was doing and now I am trying to get back into the switch hacking scene, especially since there is way more software and homebrew stuff now, and I have a bricked switch that boots up to a blue screen, but can still boot into the menu where you can select CFW and LayeredFS. I don't remember the exact firmware that I restored onto it but I was trying to restore the NAND backup that was on 4.x.x and it was on a newer version of 5.x.x I think. Any help? Or is it permanant?

Hi sorry this probably sounds dumb but what is restoring? Or how to do it other than the tutorial, which I can do but I am curious
