One of my friends bricked his PS3 (60gb model) just recently. Realizing it was way past its warranty he decided to buy a new one and gave me the old one.
So the diagnosis: It yellow lighted. It turns on for a second or two, then flashes yellow, then just shows a red flashing light for power. Recovery mode doesn't work; it can't make it past the boot-up.
I have tried completely disassembling the thing, cleaning, "reflowing" the circuit board, cleaning more, hooking everything back up and reassembling it, but it still does the same thing.
Any help would be appreciated, but I'm going to assume it's a brick after being told that "reflowing would work, if not, you're screwed."
