You should always brickblock just to be safe (unless you have starfall installed since this skips updates). You never need to scrub a game unless compressing a dual layer game onto a single layer disk (ie. Smash Bros).

don't bother scrubbing unless you want to host your game, and yes always patch it with the brick blocker just to be on the safe side.
