I thought verbatim's are actually Taiyo Yudens.

There are many types Verbatim. The Verbatim made in Japan is actually Taiyo Yuden, its the best.

Verbatim made in Singapore is very good, made in Taiwan is good, but made in India is not.

If you looking for a Verbatim, try to get made in Japan or Singapore (i think Singapore only produce DL disc now) or at least made in Taiwan.

Sony DVD+R and DVD+R DL works just fine for me. No probs so far

Taiyo Yuden, Made In Japan DVD-R. Work every time. Speed of burn is not importantant if you use quality. Branded Panasonic.
