Gaming Bowsers Inside Story Help!

Ok, this is probably a REALLY noob question , and Blantly obvious, But im up to the part where bowser needs to make a bridge to save the gombas or whatever, and i found the thingy and lifted it out of the ground, but where is it now? O_O

If I remember correctly, the bridge is on the area one screen above the Goombas.
You will sorta hop on it and then have to hope down to a green patch to go one screen down again to reach the Goombas.
I can't remember correctly and am bad at describing things but I know the bridge ends up one screen above the Goombas
