I bought a Xbox off a guy from the Facebook Marketplace. He originally bought it from a third party seller. The dude sold it to me for 30 bucks because he wanted to run emulators on it but he didn't want to deal with the hassle and will just buy another one preloaded with them. He thought it should load original Xbox disc but he never tried and that's what I wanted it for. It has a executer chip ( 3? ) With a XMBC menu screen. Every original xbox disc I put in it doesn't load and said it's empty. It does have 20 plus games installed on it already but I want to play the games I actually own. Can this be fix? Also is it possible to go back to the original menus? If not I wouldn't mind keeping it modded, but I have no idea how to put things on this. I'll attach the pic of the mod chip. Any help is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: Got it to read the disc after re assembling it. Doesn't auto start but that's okay. Still wouldn't mind tips or where to look for more information on what I could do with this. I have no idea how to proceed. Would like to change the skin or add emulators if possible. So far I can rip games straight to the harddrive which is cool.

I'd say take it apart again and clean it first.
That GPU fan looks sickly.

DVD drive could be dodgy, it's a known problem that DVD drives that old suffer from dead or half working lasers.

Changing skins on XBMC... Pretty sure you can find them online, no clue how you change it to, never done it.

Anyway, I suggest you delete the pre-installed games if you lack space or leave them and just dump the retail games you have to the HDD.
That saves on wear and tear of the DVD drive.

You could FTP into the console, your xbox's IP is the IP to connect to, username and password are usually xbox and the port is pretty much always 21.

Going back to the MS dash is possible if it's properly hacked, no clue if you can do it from within XBMC tbf.
