A newer HBC aside, what's the main difference in this and public beta 2 as far as BootMii is concerned? I'm in the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" boat, and can't seem to find any reason to update BootMii.

Boot2v4 support maybe?

It doesn't even have boot2v3 support. The only thing those Wii's would possibly be getting is a new version of bootmii as the system menu IOS or something. They aren't finding a new bug in the fixed boot1's.

What are you talking about? BootMii can be installed to boot2v2 and boot2v3. If you have boot2v3 and can't install BootMii to it, it's because of your boot1 version!

Wasn't boot1 fixed in at least most boot2v3 Wii's though? I was under the impression that boot2v4 Wii's came along around the beginning of this year and boot2v3 was earlier in 2008 and boot1 was fixed in Wii's from like mid 2008ish.

I know it's dependent on boot1, but don't most boot2v3 Wii's have boot1 fixed as well as boot2v4 Wii's?

all versions of boot2 can be modded... It just depends if your boot1 has the trucha bug enabled in it, so it can actually run the modded boot2.

I know that, the guy that posted before me just asked if it would add boot2v4 support and I just mentioned the point that many boot2v3 Wii's can't even install it because boot1 was already fixed for at least some of them already at that point.

I think the updates came in the following order:
- boot2 to version 2
- boot2 to version 3
- boot1 trucha fix
- boot2 to version 4
- new hardware revision with old IOS loading problems and requires boot2v4 or higher

I have a Boot2v3 Wii with BootMii as boot2 and a Boot2v3 Wii where it only installs as IOS... and a new black JPN Boot2v4 Wii with BootMii installed as IOS.

I've got the NAND backup anyways, and I read the comments and was told to download it, so I did.

If the team recommended it, why could it have the chance of being fatal, if it was they would have told us all in a comment.

Your nand backup wouldn't help you if you bricked your wii with this, unless you also have an infectus.

If the team would reccomend it, they wouldn't have called it a test version, This is for people with problems with the released versions.

Don't install the HBC with this if you have cIOScorp unless you want some epic lulz

It makes the HBC appearing upside down

Wait, 0.3 NAND backups are all duds?

You need to use bootmii v0.3 keyfix after backing up otherwise when try to restore bootmii says the nand is from a different wii...
