Hacking BootMii - no controller detected?

I've installed BootMii public beta 4, but it doesn't seem like my Wii controller is activated when it boots, so I can't select or change option. If I try to click a button on my controller all the 4 lights blinks for a while and nothing happens, like it doesn't detect the Wii.

Am I missing something?

yes. read the readme/faq for bootmii.

it only supports gamecube controllers, or the power + reset buttons on the front of the wii.
