    Disclaimer:
I know it is not needed and it is pretty much useless now that IOSUHax is out - but still a question.

I remember reading a while back that a few claimed to have the WiiU's Boot1 key - but they refused to let anyone else have it.

When asked to prove it, they all disappeared or posted up some lame excuse about how a string of numbers could be patented or other such nonsense.
One person even posted a SHA1, but there was never anyway to verify if it was real or just a random 20 byte long hex string he/she made up.

    So the question is:
Was that all BS and they actually did not find it?

I still think it was all BS 'cause there would be no reason not to release it by now if they actually did have it, if for no other reason that to say they did something FoF failed at.
If Team fail0verflow couldn't catch it, I doubt anyone else ever could.

    Are you kidding me?
    Boot0 key + Boot1 key = 90% chances of A9LH in Wii U scene

Boot0 can load signed recovery boot1 ancast signed images...
Found a way to fake sign(TurchaU Bug confirmed) / bypass the check....

For sure they have it. They're just waiting for the right time to deploy it. What's the rush?

@dimok and @FIX94 have provided so much for this scene already, it's been incredible even without that stuff.

I could be wrong but I though F0F said they would release stuff if the scene flourished and showed enough backing and potential: but afaik they never followed up on that message... Not that it matters much with haxchi, HBL, mocha, loadiine any way :)

    Oh, another thing:
Attempting to read the LT_OTPPROT register immediately after the IOSU begins executing will return the value 0xCF7FFFFF. boot0 only sets LT_OTPPROT once to 0xDFFFFFFF, which means that boot1 also locks 2 additional OTP blocks for unknown reasons.

Well, whether they actually did find it or not - it seems to me soon there will be talk about what didn't get done on this nintendo-abandoned console.

From the notes from the 33C3 Previews:

This talk will give a unique insight of what happens when consoles have been hacked already, but not all secrets are busted yet.
This time we will not only focus on the Nintendo 3DS but also on the Wii U, talking about our experiences wrapping up the end of an era.
We will show how we managed to exploit them in novel ways and discuss why we think that Nintendo has lost the game.

Again, as stated it's the end of the era for this console if they had the key they would release it just to show they had it.
Boot1 is/was one of the "secrets" that was never actually proven - only a hash for it that could not be verified by anyone.

Derrek could have found what at the time he thought was the Boot1 Key, only to later discover it was not - and that's why it was never mentioned again.
Not one person other than him ever admitted to validating it (very easy to do).

    Simple answer: yes

A few people have the key.

This thread is bunk and borderline trolling.
