Hacking Blocking updates?

Okay so I've been using the DNS's such as tubehax, then the one with the name I forget, then one more recent one that has primary as 052.040.086.243, secondary as 127.000.000.001. However this seems dead and I can't access anything even on the internet browser. What's the best way to block updates? I can't block nintendo servers in my router since a) don't know how and b) that'd stop me accessing everything on my 3DS, right?

Well when I tried to update a game, it told me it failed to connect to the servers and threw an error code at me, so it works ;p

try the eshop if it does not load it is working. plus you don't always get the red x no matter what update blocker you use as the wiiu only checks for updates at certain times not constantly like you seem to think.

Makes sense. I previously had a different DNS setting and everytome I was on the home screen I would get that red X but when I changed the DNS to auto as I wanted to go to eshop to find a ds game for haxchii I forgot to make a note of it hence I stubbled here after trolling the web for hours.
But yes i have no eshop access now. Cheers for clearing it up 4 me
