Hacking Blocking game updates ?

So I typically have the ps3 just disconnected from the internet. However I just got ps3 net serv set up to use my isos of my storage box.

Can I block the ps3 from looking for updates ? I didn't think of this until I launched up a game and it said there was a 1.05 update.

I have psn patch but maybe I missed setting up something ?

This is a game update and not a system update, it's always safe to do them if you want or need to.
Just check that you desactivated automatic updates.
The only place were you'll be asked for updating your system is when you connect to the PSN.
