The first one isn't a sticky, the second one doesn't tell you in the OP, and the IPs stated in the thread aren't all of them. The sass isn't needed, either. Yes, people can trouble themselves to look a little harder, but I've found that things tend to go smoother later on if you just answer their questions briefly and politely

The point is the info is already on the forum, listed in threads AND stickies. these kinds of threads are just annoying and clogging up the forum. Plus if you use the search function you can easily find this info, there's no excuse

Okay, okay, okay, if everyone could simmer down just a bit that would be fantastic.

We've got answers posted, so that's great, we can now close the thread. It really sucks that arguments had to start before the answers were posted but for some reason the default position around here is to treat people like crap first and maybe point them in the right direction later.

Yes, there is invaluable information in the stickied threads. Why don't people read them? If you can figure that out you're a likely candidate for a nobel prize of some sort. Good, intelligent people look right past the stickies and go straight to questions every single day, on every single forum in the world.
That's no good excuse to go dog-piling on them.
If you don't feel like helping someone that's fine. Don't post. Go elsewhere.
But this "I don't like the fact that you asked a question that was already answered somewhere so you need to be treated like scum" attitude has got to go.
