Blade Recommends! Ninjatown
B.R. Issue #3
Blade Recommends
Here's the third in a series that I'll be calling Blade Recommends! This'll be my little mini-project on the Temp, which will probably last until Another World gets the full revival of the original GBAtemp Recommends. I'll be posting a new one whenever I feel like it, which would probably be very often.
Perhaps my main reason for doing this is to improve my quality of writing. When I first joined the Temp, my first post was this stupid mini-guide I wrote about YSMenu, and I spelled a bunch of things wrong, including something in the title. Also, the entire post was flooded with Engrish. Thankfully, I'm a lot better at this stuff now.
Today, I'm recommending Ninjatown. This is an adorable tower defense game where you try to defend Ninjatown against the evil Mr. Demon. The characters in this game are based upon a toy line created by Shawn Smith who created Shawnimals, where the ninja characters are spin-offs of one of his toys. The art style is fresh and is unique, all of the visuals are in top view just like the normal Tower Defense game. This game is presented very well, it prefers to flaunt its personality out and that's a good thing. There are a very wide variation of colorful characters that shows how the game made full use of Shawn's creative mind.
The gameplay is basically your solid tower defense game, but they manage to keep it fresh with, well, ninjas. It's nearly impossible to resist those cute things. The game is well paced and well balanced, keeping each wave short, perfect for portable play. The controls are kept simple and responsive. The gameplay has layers, getting deeper with each level, perfect to get to know the game easier. This game is a very good game overall.[/p]
