Ok guys just got my key and just loaded up SXOS.

I have my switch in airplane mode, but it tells me there is an update for every game? how does it know if im in airplane mode?

Also when you select games they all appear on the main menu, but only first one is playable, i sume because its the loaded one, but all the rest still stay on the menu, messy, how to get rid?

Maybe previous online activities learned about those updates ? Also, only one game at the time from the main menu seems as expected, as only one cartridge can be inserted at the time. But I dont have it, maybe someone else can explain.

But that means nintendo are storing stuff on your console you dont know about, theres now way it can know about game updates if you only just loaded the game and your offline?

Maybe a update is stored ? Start your Switch one time in Recovery Mode. Not RCM !. It will delete downloadet updates. Test again...

Nintendo has put a file on your switch that has update info on all games available (doubt it takes up much space)

So when you insert a game it checks this list to what version you already have

Not sure if this list updates only when you update firmware or when you access eshop or even if it's pushed as soon as you connect to wifi

This happens because as the game library expands, when you're online, your switch takes note of this, even if you don't own the game. With this, say you were to buy a game and try it in portable mode as soon as you get, but you wouldn't know there was an update. This way the console can notify you, and you'd make an effort to connect online and update. (This is all based on regular use, and not accounting for CFW, etc).

As per if you should update, you can in OFW to be safe, but it is still no guarantee. I myself have, still not banned.

It's just because i think you previously had downloaded the updates which are stoired on micro sd card and then when you format for hack it asks you to download.
