Gaming Bioshock w/ no sound

I have Bioshock off Steam and after the plane crash, there's no sound. (There was sound before in the game.)
I'm using Vista if that helps.

Well, common Bioshock problem, actually. I fixed it but I never remember how I did it. I think it was a reinstall, though, I don't remember too well.

I got it working. I had to run it in XP. You have to do it to the actual .exe. Shortcut icon doesn't work. :/

I had this prob a while back & the best I could do was get the sound to play every 1 second or so.

Never found a proper fix.
