So somehow mario strikers got into virtual game cards, and now im scared of putting that account on to switch 2 and getting banned

Isn't this just the screen where it asks if you want to insert a virtual game card?

If you weren't online or had something like 90DNS set up, you should be fine.
You'll get banned within 2~3 months if you did something wrong.
