It's barely stable if it's not running on the same CPU. I thought to myself, "Why doesn't he make this as a game executable instead of an EFI image?" and maybe set up a routine to delay the next instructions passed to the CPU to reduce speed. Some game devs have done that when the later 386 machines came out and wanted compatibility, but before that, you had the 8086, which goes up to about 8 MHz, so they didn't pay much attention.
