So im planning on modding all my consoles to be able to play off an SD card or something similar.

The console that is left is my old trusty PS2 Fat model. As far as I can tell there arent any ways to hack it from the console itself like with the vita for exemple.

So what is the easiest way to hack the console to be able to get games on a sd card or something and play on a fat ps2?

I am pretty noobish

Get yerself a FreeMCBoot memory card, this one is essential atleast initially, (yes, you can make a FreeMCBoot mc yourself, but you'd need a working disc drive, burn some discs yada yada.. Google it if you really want to do it yourself).
As for loading/storing games, on a fat you have 3 options:
using a MX4SIO memory card (with an sd card inserted), playing through ethernet (SMB), and running games through internal hdd (which is what i recommend). If you want to go with the latter, you'd need either a genuine Sony hdd network adapter and a SATA adapter (as the OEM adapter comes with IDE), or a 3rd party one like the GameStar adapter that comes with sata (tho it doesn't have ethernet, which can be useful for transferring games and used for online play), and of course an hdd of your choice (both 2.5 & 3.5" work).
Setting it up isn't too complicated, with whatever method you gonna go with (even tho i really recommend internal hdd). if you need assistance feel free to ask.
