If you like dark souls style games, Salt & Sanctuary. It's basically a 2d version. And just as confusing as the Souls games.

Is Sonic Mania an Indie?

Membrane is a pretty interesting little physics puzzle game. You shoot out triangles that you can use to build bridges an more. Also it's set inside a human body. Got it for 99c some years ago during a sale.

Momodora for a metroid-like.. kind of.
Maybe Rabi-Ribi too. Don't let the cutesy rabbit crap fool you, it's a really intense game.

Mugsters is a decent action game. Not sure how to describe it, look at some gameplay I suppose.

Finally my personal favorite: Rain World! It's basically a side scrolling survival simulator, but that doesn't do it justice. All the wild life that wants to eat you is 'alive' even when off screen. Some may eat other enemies for example. You can even feed some enemies and become friends (dangerous!). It's quite incredible IMO.

I hope something here tickles your fancy!

do I need to play the first one to enjoy the second one?
You don't really need to if you are only interested in the fun gameplay.

But I would suggest you play both. While the 1st is great, 2nd is an improvement in nearly every way so it would be better to play them in order. Especially if you care about story at all. If you like the 2nd one enough to go back and play the 1st, I think it would feel weird to go from 2 to 1.

They are both fantastic and would also highly recommend both.

As for sonic mania, I already have the pc version as I’m a HUGE sonic fan, might get the switch version for portability tho, also I have memebrane, got it during a sale

Did you play through the additional chapters too? There are 3 Shovel Knight episodes. Really great game! And the Switch version has co-op multiplayer!
No, I did not, I am planning to tho

Night in the woods. Man, when I played it, it started out a little bit boring, but after some hours, it became one of my favorite games of all time. It's as good as that. It is simple, but it escalates to a level that you will be wondering about your existence.

Sonic The Hedgehog 1 Remake with mania physics (6 dolars) is good and celeste I heard it's very good
Already have Celeste and doesn’t mania have the same physics as the classic games? They felt extremely similar to me, it’s just that mania felt a tiny bit faster

A Hat in Time is also a great one.
Need to play that one
