I liked Ultimate Spiderman the best so far, though I actually thought Wolverine used the game engine the best out of all the games licensed for it.

I never played any Spiderman games but heard Web of Shadows was a very good game. And Ultimate spiderman too.

I'm going to cast one unrecommend for Web of Shadows.

I liked the combat and all, but the level design and mission set up were just a mess. It was a chore just to figure out what you were looking at in some rooms let alone find an objective.

Web of Shadow for sure. But the bosses are not very well balanced. Everything else is really well made. But I must say, that I`m a sucker for Metroidvania

i have just played 2 ie.) ultimate and web of shadows and it seems web of shadows has the best combat but as master and donato said, design is not good.... ultimate on the other hand has looked at these points

Yep I do look at the reviews and all but I like to hear what people think about it now is there something so wrong with that? Anyway I think I'll try web of shadows since I have it for the 360 and its pretty fun but I'll also try Ultimate spiderman.

Nothing wrong, its just that your topics are for specific games and are like "recommend-me-a-game" threads.... we have essentials list and "recommend-me-a-game"..... It will only bury other threads.

FWiW, while I've only played SM:WoS (I thought the boss fights disproportionately harder than the rest of the game) I liked it quite a bit. I'd hoped the recent Wolverine game would have a similar level/world like SM:WoS did but it was more linear.

ultimate spider-man, 4 sure!
i used 2 get my it on my R4 and i had 2 decide the right game, just like u.
so, here goes the tip, u just follow it if ya want, that's all ur choice ;'D
ultimate spider-man is the best one imo, cuz the graphic is very-well done, u can control venom, not just spider-man, i think u can control others (i'm not that right about this), and the wallpapers-like images are pretty awesome!

Necroposting, but I had to say this: after this was posted, Shattered Dimensions came out (2010). It is one of the most underrated games ever! It's one of the best metroidvanias and one of the best spiderman games ever. It took everything good about web of shadows, bumped it up to 11 and fixed the level design. Trust me, if you have the chance and enjoy a good spiderman game or metroidvania, play Shattered Dimensions, you will not regret it!
