Mario Party DS for sure and specially if you have friends to do download play. For racing I'd go with the new NFS Pro Street. Tetris DS ain't bad for some filler time and Panzer Tactics for some strategy.

Right now my top 2 most played games are both japanese imports...
Power Pro Kun Pocket 10... the best baseball game avaialble on the DS, hands down. even without japanese knowledge I'm able to play through a regular season and playoffs... but wish I knew japanese to play the RPG "Success" mode.
K-1 World GP... great fighting simulation... just wish i knew japanese to play the create a fighter/career mode.
