What is currently the best cfw for the ps3?

I use the ultimate tool box from devil 303, why should the evilnat 4.87 soon have the most features? Incidentally, in the toolbox there is a Rebug Rex 4.84 Cobra 8.2 unofficially from devil303

I am currently using the evilnat 4.87.2, I am waiting until Cobra 8.3 is finished.

I think the qa toggle thing is part of cobra 8.30, so unless you're using that, you'll probably need the Habib toggler or rebug toolbox. I always use update debug to install updates, and it should work for anything higher than 3.55. lower than that, you have to use the recovery mode sometimes (it depends on the system). I don't know why, but someone else was trying to downgrade to 2.something and couldn't via the xmb, even with update debug.

Rebug Rex Cex or Dex?
What would be better? I never use mods

cex or rex if on cex. you can only downgrade to dex if already on dex. dex isn't needed by most people unless you use rtm (real time modding) to make cheat stuff or something.

I think cfw must also have the spkg signature patch to allow downgrading, so it's not just qa. most cfw should have it though, if not all.

not really much anymore. you could do it with sen enabler, also made by evilnat. I recommend you do update debug though when installing firmware. I have a tutorial on it in my ps3 tutorials. it will make it very easy. you can install up to 20 updates to the internal hdd.

I've been on ferrox before, but I'm mostly on rebug. I only went to ferrox, when the person I bought the console from had screwed a lot of things up. he had sp int for the network environment for example, when it needs to be np or you won't be able to sign in.

fyi, sp int is the developer version of psn for developers only; np is retail. I'm not sure if we could ever sign in to sp int. maybe we could at one time. it was his backup system, so it probably hadn't been used in years. I fixed everything with it, so now it's my cfw system.

So I stayed on Evilnat 4.87.2 because it's enough for me, it's the latest Cex.
