Hacking Best option for O3DS 8.X ?

Just added an O3DS to my collection. It has 8.X firmware. What is the best option?

does it have the browser installed or not (-0 or not)?

If it does, you can simply use the browser exploit to boot any CFW or GW. You can then upgrade it to 9.2 with sysupdater or downgrade to 4.x. It's up to you really what you want to do.

Use the Gateway downgrade method, IIRC you don't even need a Gateway card to downgrade.

Why would you downgrade the whole firm? Downgrading just MSET app will enable MSET exploit.
And it is superior than 4.5 in that 8.x supports newer save encryption.

RxTools imo. You can made an emuNAND and then you're good to go. You can even downgrade to 4.x firmware if you want

I have a Gateway, so I'm pretty biased. However I do use the slotkey/RxTools combo in a nice dual setup for DSiWare/GBA. I did what you mentioned on my GF's 3DS, but I feel like having a 4.5 backup is just better for some reason...
