Best option for n64 multiplayer?

I recently heard of the splitscreen multiplayer mario 64 hack by Kaze, and so I patched my rom and looked up some stuff to see if I could play it with my siblings on the wii u. I have not tried it yet, but someone said that if you play n64 games with the gamepad, there can only be one player. (We only have the gamepad, pro controller, and a couple of wiimotes.) I was wondering if there was some alternate emulator or patch to fix this.

(EDIT): the inject ended up not loading at all :/
I will post a thread later asking more about it.

If you play is without gamepad support in either Wii64 or Not64under vWii in theory it should work. Afaik when playing with gamepad it's single player only although I haven't actually tried it.

Are you saying there is gamepad support for some wii emulators?

There is support for that but only using a Wii U channel forwarder çreated with teconmoons injector that you install via WUP installer on the Wii U menu
