Got my first Wii yesterday, used LU63 (4.0U vanilla) bought around March. Had it homebrewed pretty quick with a bunch of apps. Easy easy. My question is what is my best option right now for antibrick? I've tried installing bootmii as IOS and it didn't seem to do anything, have heard varying things about preloader and 4.0, and am not sure if there are any other options for newer Wiis where you can't mess with boot2. Sorry if this is obvious or dumb question, but very new to this and am a bit spooked about doing anything to my box that'll mess it up. Thanks much for any help at all.

Install bootmii as boot2 to offer the best protection possible. It is fine to do this as you have a LU63, not LU65. Then create a backup of you NAND and away you go.

Well, if you dont want BootMii you can always install Preloader, works pretty good and it isnt as slow as BootMii.

Will preloader install as IOS like bootmii tried (and failed) to do? 0.29 is safe for 4.0 consoles, correct? Assuming the stickied preloader thread here is the best installation tutorial available... so I will try that later, perhaps. Wish me luck.

A wii this new almost certainly won't have a vulnerable Boot1 - this was fixed mid-2008.

No, it doesn't install as an IOS.
Preloader moves your System Menu and takes it's place.
Yep, it's safe for 4.0

Bootmii cannot be installed as boot2 on any wii manufactured after mid-2008. Generally if you have a wii that is
