Hacking Best memory card setup for N3DS

I was thinking of putting a 32GB card in my N3DS, so would I need to format that card to exFAT, or is FAT32 the only supported format. If that's the case, how would a game larger than 4GB be installed as a CIA? Though I've done hours of lurking I haven't seen any answers to this so please bear with me...

Also, should I use a 16GB or a 32GB card on the Gateway cart itself? Approximately how many games would I be sacrificing with the 16GB?

a .cia would be unpacked into small files like any other item downloaded from the eshop.

as for putting the cia on the card, i'm unsure.

Search the Nintendo site for formatting your DS SD card. They point you to an SD formatting tool to get the job done. I think it's FAT32 in the end. And yes, CIA files are much smaller than rom files.
