I'm looking to buy a Nintendo DS Lite soon and also get a flash cart. I already have a GameBoy Advance SP with an EZ-FLash II Power Star 512mb for GBA games, so I'm not worried about GBA compatibility. Would it be better to get a slot 2 cart now, or wait for reviews on DS-Extreme or the rumoured upcoming M3 product? If it's a slot 2, any reccomendations?

Not much is known about the slot 2 units, so unless your willing to wait.
Your best 3 picks are the SCL, M3L & the G6L & because GBA is not that
Important you’d be better off with the Supercard lite. Better homebrew
Support then the others, excellent DS compatibility & cheaper as well.

Well if GBA isn't required I think the upcoming "EZ4 Lite - Compact" wins hands down with regards to price. (Supposed to launch today...11th september. )

Winsunx has them on pre-order for $25!

Yeah! EZ 4 compact is very nice and so cheaper for DSL.
If you don't want to run GBA ROMs then get it.

Slot 1 is for DS cards and Slot 2 is for GBA carts, remember this people

Yes I know slot 2 is GBA & slot 1 is DS, hell it’s marked on the back of the DS.
But because this was xilo’s first post, I figured I would just answer his question.
Instead of coming off like an asshole. After all it was more then likely just a typo
on his part.

Well not a typo, more like unclarified on my part. I meant should I get/wait for reviews on Slot 1 carts, or get recommendations and get a Slot 2 cart now. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm going to wait for reviews on EZ-Flash IV Compact. If that doesn't turn out like hyped, what's the better cart, Supercard or M3? For strictly DS mind you...

If its just for DS use, then Supercard simply because its cheaper.

I think you're the one trying to be insulting..

I'm just pointing out you mentioning not knowing much about slot-2 solutions and goes on to mention
a few slot-2 solution

And to actually add a comment to the topic, wait for the slot-1 solution so you don't need to swap back
and forth if you want DS or GBA gaming.. Easier for Slot-1 for DS and Slot-2 for GBA..

Unless if you're impatient and/or don't mind the swapping of carts then be my guest and get the Supercard Lite
or the even cheaper EZ4 Lite Compact..

All right thanks. I think I'm going to wait till the DS-Extreme comes out before I make a decision.
