Good day folks.

Wondering if those who own 2gb micro SDs can reply with their findings....

transfer speeds ?
compatability with Tony Hawk/castlevania etc ?

and which brand they are using ?

and if you're UK based.....where the cheapest retailers are ??

many thanks

I have a PNY card its from japan, plays TH and CV well. Animal crossing is slow but faster than my kingston taiwan cards, still slow though.I was thinking of getting one of those USB flash ds cards those are said to play everything perfectly.

I'm also looking into 2GB microSDs, as they are dropping in price in my region, becoming cheaper than buying two individual 1GB microSD cards.

I've read from another user posted in another section of GBAtemp that the Transcend 2GB MicroSD card has full compatibility with Castlevania : Portrait Of Ruin (he played past the Ghost Mission, and no warp freezes, no random freezes, menu freezes, equipment change freezes, and the infamous ghost freeze itself is absent.)

I'm waiting for a Kingston 2GB Japan MicroSD, just to be safe, lol.

wow 70$ >< you can just buy two 1gB cards for at most 45-50$
btw i wouldnt buy SD cards from ebay just becuse they can just as easly be some pirated copy from china (no offence to the chinese people here).

That's why you ask them first

If they tell me it's made in Japan (Their feedback is over 3000 so I'm assuming they don't talk trash) I may consider purchasing one. TOTAL 48 USD

can somebody post the link to the post where the transcendend 2gb microsd works perfectly? I'd like to follow it up myself to see if it is actually true

otherwise it looks like kingston 1gb microsd is the way to go (most of them anyways judging by the wiki link)

Hmm....I have a 2gig Transcend microSD in my R4.....I'll have to try PoR in it. The only reason I never tried it before is because I actually own the real cart of that game before I ever got into flashcarts. As for Tony Hawk, I never tried it simply because that's not my type of game.

Though I can say that I haven't had any issues with ANY of the games I have ran though it yet, which would probably total over 100 so far.

Unfortunately, I can't do it right now because I'll be leaving town in about 45 minutes, but I'll be sure to check it out and let you guys know what happens in the next day or two.

OK, I just tried real quick to play PoR in my R4 with the 2gig Transcend.....the first monolith/portrait (whatever) I came to locked the game. Music still played, but the game was otherwise frozen.

So no, it doesn't work. Whowever said it did work either lied or was very lucky.

I really want to order my m3 lite but I can't till I find a microsd for it

looks like your best bet is to go to an actual store and look at the box to see if its from japan

do all toshiba 1gig microsd work perfectly?

I ordered my microSD-s (1Gb - made in Japan) from DealExtreme (was the cheapest price), they should arrive every day now.
And I also ordered M3Lite from Bamboogaming it also has to arrive soon....
Can't wait!
