Not sure if anyone else has experienced a similar problem, but recently my laptop is being a pain at playing PC games. The problem is, the games run all fine and dandy, from anywhere to 10mins up to around an hour, then the screen blacks out and all inputs become unresponsive. The games still run, because you can hear the audio. This means I have to do a hard reset to use the laptop.

My guess is that its some form of driver crash, probably DirectX.

From a different forum:
I'd say this is most likely a GPU overheating issue. check that your fan is working and check the temperature readout while you're playing game

Did you try reinstalling your graphics card drivers?

Directx isn't a driver.
What OS? If you're on Vista/7/8 then a video driver crash would cause the OS to unload it, killing the game and popping up a system tray notification that the driver crashed.
If you're on XP or below, a GPU driver crash will cause a BSOD.

It sounds like overheating to me.
