Games Pundit said:EA have recently released a very short 43 second teaser trailer for their upcoming game, Battlefield 3.
The trailer reveals that the game will be heading to stores at around Fall 2011, in time for Christmas and also to compete with the inevitable release of Call of Duty.
There is also a beta scheduled later this year for those who purchased the limited edition Medal of Honor.
The trailer doesn't depict much, as to be expected from a teaser trailer. The game appears to be in a present time setting going by the vehicles in the trailer.
The game is scheduled for a "fall 2011" release and preorders are being taken currently at BATTLEFIELD.com

Of course I am just getting all of this from the trailer as not much else is known about the game.
Source.
What I find interesting is the game is now an 18/mature whereas bad company 2 was a 16. More realistic combat effects? Or tightening laws on violence maybe.
I doubt it will compete with CoD, once a game has a stranglehold on the public like that it will be difficult to get a dent in the market.
