i always use the lowest setting =/ its more than bright enough, and i get around 10 hours (i guess, i just know it lasts for weeks only playing a few hours at a time)

i guess if you played out in the sun or something you'd need the brightest.
and i agree with cannon. Lithium Ion isnt the battery that "learns" , that's the older, less used ncad or w/e. it's what i have to explain to old ppl that think that if you charge your laptop before it dies you're gonna shorten it's life =/

I have been using the r4 with my DS and havent noticed a drastic change in battery life. Ive had the DS since december 18th [here or there] and if i remember rightly, the review said that the battery life was only changed by bout half an hour....

I have my Ds screen brightness on the second level, becaue it helps increase battery life. i dont use the sound much either.

I think Retal is wrong, the battery is lithium ion.
you do not need to discharge/charge to full to keep the levels high. In the link it states that one of the drawbacks is that
the battery life may reduce drastically within a year or two though

heh, if thats the case, then thats pretty funny that he was mocking people ("idiots") for not reading the manual, when hes the one who didnt read it

you know, even if it is a recharging battery, it will die someday. everytime you use the charger, the lifespan of the battery shortens.
