Hacking Basic Questions

I am planning to mod my black Wii U however I have a few basic questions:

1. What format do I need the games to be loaded? WBFS or ISO?
2. Can I store these files on the built-in storage space inside Wii-U or do I need to add an external HDD?

Not sure about 1, but the vWii only has 512MB like the normal Wii. The rest of the Wii U's hard drive is not accessible from the vWii. So basically you need an external hard drive.
