if the Wii has a PowerPC architecture
and the Xbox and PS have a x86 architecture.

If the NX uses Nvidia Tegra processors ... does that give us a hint to what architecture the NX will have ?
FWIW, what architecture does iPhones and Android devices use ?

nintendo kept saying 'family of consoles' i made a diagram of what i thought it could mean months ago, but as far as the UI of the NX is concerned i believe that will be as simple as a ui can get

Maybe they just switch in their internal IT department to linux.
And PS4 runs with FreeBSD(or OpenBSD, but not Linux).
But both of them are just Kernels, the most important part of an OS, but also the part users almost never get see, especially when it's deployed in consoles.

The only advantage users get to see would be that games would be ported a lot faster, because on Linux are interfaces like OpenGL or Vulkan easily available.

EDIT: Offtopic, is the game he's playing Metroid Other M?

If the nintendo NX does have kid icarus coming up i highly suspect what i was saying about it featuring "eye tracking" tech to be a possibility.

everything ive seen recently hints at the eyes being nintendos HUGE next gimmick, ive already said it would be based on what ive seen with n3ds and motion controls converted into eye tracking, but take a look at the beginning of this video. This is from renown game developer Dennis Dyacks new youtube channel who hints at his next game "shadows of the eternals" being on the nx and possibly utilizing nx's gimmick.

another video coming from a new source reporter HappyNintendoFan

if you further listen to a lot of Dennis Dyacks The Quantum Tunnel channel he hints at the NX gimmick being major breakthrough in tech and not just specs

rumor has it the nx WILL hold a tegra x2 chip inside.
Nintendo has stated that the nx will be a "family" of consoles...

Okay so taking into consideration the new line of nintendo hardware will feature a handheld and a console.

So there was a rumor that the console was going to be vr ready from the day of release, just in case, is the Tegra X2 really powerful to handle smooth VR? The ps4 is rumored to have junky vr and the tegra x2 is rumored to be as powerful as the vanilla ps4. The ps4neo is the solution to smoother vr because the ps4 cant handle it, rumor stating that with the announcement of Scorpio specs the Neo got a last second hardware upgrade too. Okay so keepin that in mind, is Nintendos new console machine going to be equipped with a X2 chip? probably not...

Going even further back into the claims that Nintendo is working on a true on the go console gaming solution... Is it plausible that the handheld part of the new nintendo console will be equipped with the Tegra X2 then?

NO, because if the hardware was apples and oranges then the programming on the console and handheld would be completely different too. This is why Nintendo merged both development teams into one years back. Whatever hardware is in the console has to be similar to the hardware in the handheld too.

forget about the hardware inside of it, could nintendo be working on a smartphone or tablet too? Thats the only explanation i can think of in which the Tegra X2 is implemented unless the tegra x2 somehow has about 4 teraflops of computing power...

Not even fp16 would go 4 tera. Nx might Have a dock but most likely the other thing is provided By amd.

fp16?

Ps4neo was originally rumored to be 4.5 teraflops, which is amds ($170 retail) rx470 graphics card. With the Scorpio announced at 6Tf itll most likely be an overclocked rx480 (5.5 teraflops at $220 retail). Ps4 rumored to have upgraded the specs since the Scorpio announcement, so possible upgrade to rx480. (Scorpio might be a true Gen9 console not under the XBOX name slated to compete with Nintendos Gen9 system 'nx')

With the addition of u4k bluray players itll realistically be around $450 for the Neo if sony sells for a loss again because they own the rights to blu-ray. Which means the scorpio will be around $600

The only thing that matters with Teraflops is whether or not you Barf 3mins into a VR EXPERIENCE or if you Barf at 30mins into a VR EXPERIENCE at this point. We havent seen any game that leaps and bounds more graphically superior over what we already have with ps4/xb1. There isnt any indication that a full gorgeous vr game (better than ps2 graphics) can even be made with the highest powered graphics card at this point (12teraflops).

Most people are already believing that the NX gimmick is the handheld/console hybrid alone. Im not entire sold on that at all. Sure it has a new moto "Theres no Play like it" but being able to play console quality games on the go isnt enough for me to believe thats why kimishima wants to play it too. Or that Reggie stating that Nintendo wont go heavy into VR or AR. This to me hints at something "visual" as its gimmick much like the 3ds. Whatever it is will probably the solution opposite to VR that mid range tech can handle right now,Because if you think about it Metroid Prime 3 was the closest thing to VR or a true First Person Shooter at the time of release...

mid range tech RIGHT NOW is 5.5 teraflops the rx480 at $220. and in an interview with Denis Dyack who is probably working for Nintendo right now, he all but confirms that Nintendo new console is at least on par with the ps4neo.

Yeah, But not with arm/ portable. The Only tegra product on par is the px2, which is for self driving cars.

Nintendo merged R&D of both consoles and Handhelds to try and unify its software development. Again they arent going to combine apples and oranges. If Nintendo does go Tegra X2 then the console will probably go GTX 1060 ($200) and whatever cpu they have but there isnt any proof Nvidia secured a winning design (design win) for a new gaming console.

Either way the new nintendo consoles will be incredibly powerful specswise, but the wiiu first party games were already on par with ps4/xb1 games. So I believe the extra power will most likely be used for third party devs or itll power whatever it is the gimmick is...

The controller IS a screen with physical buttons.
The buttons have screens in them like - - so they can be skinned to match the surrounding proper screen.
