Yea it comes back to the point from Nintendo themselves
"INDUSTRY LEADING CHIPS"

It can be deceptive because they can go a totally different route and give leading chips to something along the lines of a chromecast or cable/satellite box...

And "all" the fans of Metroid.

http://www.vgchartz.com/article/250223/metroid-a-sales-history/

Its a complete bust. I for one think Metroid Federations actually looks good, and i enjoyed Metroid Other M. but people didnt like Other M for some reason

WiiU, n3ds, vita, Ps4, Xb1. All of them were just previews to the actually console wars Gen8...

Nintendo as a company compared to Sony and Microsoft IS games period. Merchandise like clothing, toys, plushies, amiibo, ALL based on video games. So what makes nintendo different? Nintendo is the only company that pushes out first party video games at a crazy rate in comparison to sony/microsoft virtually nonexistent first party games (halo, fable, knack, the order 1886). Comparing first party games, its no question nintendo has better quality games.

Okay so lets say nintendo gets all the other third party games the other systems have.... It wont matter... why?

Hearing a rumor that nintendo is gonna push 'software'(fancy word for games) at a faster rate so there are no delays in between months, and most of the wiiu games in development now bringing it to the nx (trying to get hype). This isnt a good thing. What they're doing now is releasing in quantity and not quality. The only reasons why the wiiu games sold at all was because it was the only thing new to play if you purchased a wiiu. Even tho a team making a game like Zelda is much smaller compared to an entire company whose sole purpose is to make games like The Witcher doesnt seem fair, they will still be compared to one another. That isnt a good thing for Nintendo. People will skip the game entirely, and pushing products that just dont stack up to others games no matter how hard they work just isnt going to cut it for them anymore... They need to takes some of those playstation and xbox only games and play it themselves and learn from it. Most console games HAVE to be epic for consumers to even buy it anymore (exclude sports games and shooters). These wiiu games just dont cut the list, and pushing even more wiiu games onto the NX sounds like a disaster. Those games probably will need a complete overhaul to be priced at $60 now.

Based on the video game system in the star fox short, and newer technology seen on the 3ds, I came to a conclusion on what the NX might have....

EYE TRACKING TECHNOLOGY

it makes complete sense, as in the cartoon you see a giant camera on top of the big screen he plays on. Imagine the wii remote sensor (bar with two trackers) detector on both the wiiu gamepad and sitting top/below tv, Now imagine that same thing BUT its being used the same way as the n3ds super sensitive 3d tracker that tracks your eyes..... This leads to falco playing star fox using his eyes to aim. Imagine that with games like call of duty, the division, etc etc.....

your still thinking SMALL scale when it comes to nintendo, nintendo doesnt do small scale. nobody here is special because they 'own' a wiiu (nobody owns the consoles they buy anymore after agreeing to terms). nobody is gonna buy games they can emulate. nobodies gonna buy a nintend phone/tablet. nintendo isnt going to cater to those whom purchased a wiiu unless they give an ambassador game away.

The NX isnt going to be anything 'new' and dont be fooled. All it is a game console thought up of recycled ideas, made from recyled parts, with game concepts that are recycled. Most their recycled ideas from ideas that didnt work.

Iwata died man, along side his dumb vision for nintendo dragging it down to the grave with him.

worst case scenario i go and buy whatever nx is at a gamestop two maybe three years from now, recycled, when they cancel all production of the console and where non of the proceeds go to nintendo. Or i dont buy it at all and keep nintendo in my heart stuck in the 1990s, early 2000s where it stays forever lol

problem is that you claimed you own a wiiu...
so you are the "masochist" here...

Nintendo doesn't care about you...they will not do anything to make you change your mind.
they have now reduced their "scale" to their core fans.
and unlucky for you they are so much nintendo can give a fuck to sony and ms way of do things and continue do their thing on their own...

so here people that are ok with this are happy wiiu owners, but people like you that cannot understand this post things like you posted so far...

it's like people asking for IOSU , scene guys do not give a fuck of your whining, if you give the wiiu scene for dead as it is then you can enjoy the homebrew when they arrive, but it's their choice you cannot do anything to change their mind and neither they will do anything to please you...

so the masochist is you still blaming someone for not doing what you like they do.
they gonna do what they want , being them Nintendo, being them the scene guys, nobody cares about people whining generally speaking, as long Nintendo has their fans and scene guy enjoy hacking with people they like to share their hacks you are cleary fucked here.
kind of masochist...

go buy starfox and enjoy it ...or just go buy a ps4k and do not care anymore about nintendo... don't be masochist...

ONE - i dont know what a mosachrist is, nor do i care to look it up.
TWO- i will never badmouth and never have badmouth the people who release great work or haven't released great work.
THREE- your still think VERY SMALL scale and your the masorchrist

FOUR- recycle recycle recycle recyclerecyclerecyclerecycle

OK, so they bring Eye Tracking Tech okay. They bring it Metroid. Who still cares for Metroid? really? really? You care for metroid, or you care about controlling samus?

Metroid shoulda been done after Super Metroid in the 90s, baby metroid died. People dont care about ridley or blah blah blah, people are done killing metroid (around 300 metroid? metroid I+II+Super 82 each?).

Why cant they take their base story of Samus the space cop/detective/space rambo/morph ball, whatever the hell she is, and find a new planet and develop a different story? it doesnt have to be called Metroid. But then again, Point 4

Signs point to Nintendo releasing in 2017 as stated by rumor. Once again Nintendo is late to another party, this time its their own party.....

Masochist means you enjoy bringing pain upon yourself

Also, I'm going to have to disagree that recycling features is a bad thing. The PS4 and XBone are both basically PCs that have features similar to the consoles prior to them and look at where they are now

Im talking first party games, microsoft and sony rarely do them. Nintendo relies on them. Giving the people of the Dynasty Warriors access to there characters is a great sign but Hyrule Warriors was ____... obviously not the game people want although its a zelda game

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/77879/hyrule-warriors/

but then again some 3rd party developers try to do this

There has to be balance in the force for Nintendo

Let's see...what a next-gen console should be....

1.An upgrade over the previous console--If you're going to pay for something new, it should BE something new! The o3ds vs. the n3ds is a good example of this. Even though they are "technically" the same system, the hardware upgrades in the n3ds make it a viable and valuable upgrade.

2.Backwards compatible--There is only so much space on an entertainment center for game consoles. If I'm going to upgrade from of your products to the new one, you should allow me to play games from the previous system on it, as well. This lets me replace the old instead of adding another unit. It also creates the option of selling the old to help pay for the new and encourages me to continue buying the previous gen games that may still be released even after the new console comes out. Even back in the cartridge days, they could find ways to do this (Super Gameboy, for instance)

3.Multi-functional--As game consoles have moved away from highly-specialized gaming hardware to highly-crippled pc hardware, the demand for an entertainment console vs. a gaming console has risen. The usual things people hack into a console like video players, emulators, linux builds. I know some consoles have done things like this, but it's not nearly as often as they should nor is it usually as functional as it should be.

4.Durable--consoles should LAST! It's no secret that most developers don't make money on the hardware, it's through the licensing and sales of the software. So consoles should be built to last and to exceed the average user's expectations (aka, not most of us). Problems with heating or bad wiring shouldn't be a common thing with a console. (cite: Xbox units overheating and 3ds units getting bad connections with video cables and such).

5.Resistant to obsolescence--While it's impossible to predict the future, a console should be designed so that anything that comes out around the same time is a true rival, rather than getting left behind...certainly not a lesser machine that things that came out before it! (Wii being no more powerful than a GameCube vs. the PS3 & Xbox 360, for example.)

6.Expandable--Leave plenty of room on the console for interesting expansions and accessories. I don't mean things like the N64 expansion pack...that extra memory should have been in the console to begin with! But Nintendo has come out with some great things in the past! Things like the Power Glove, Robbie the Robot, The Super Gameboy!

The Super Gameboy actually holds a special place in my heart. I played the entirety of Pokemon Red on that thing! ^_^ Why portable developers are so hesitant to add external output is beyond me (I don't use the TV out on my psp very often, but it's lovely that I can when I want to).

Well, that's my 42 cents' worth! ^_^

recycled thinking...

i hope for what the rumors state:

most powerful console
best graphics
third party access to nintendo classic characters 'in good ways', not hyrule warriors 3ds
ability to play anywhere on the handheld
great pricing on games sooner rather than later 'nintendo selects'(pikmin 3 $20 a year later, not a year after the console is completely dead)

but i know some way theyll backtrack and screw it up. Reminds me of what EA does with sims4 and what they do with madden.

Its really interesting now with the ps4k and xb upgrades coming too. Like i said before, Nintendo probably thought they were gonna get this console announcement by themselves lol

@nintendarium Yeah, I know a lot of what I suggested is NOT what the console designers will do (and some of it is a pipe dream by any standard), but since we're making baseless speculations, I thought I'd throw out some dream ideas. :P

What baffles me about 2 is that the Wii & PS3 both arrived with backwards compatibility with their previous gen and the features were ripped out and/or blocked. And if the hardware is significantly more powerful than the previous gen, an emulation an be achieved (Isn't that how PS2 played PS1 and doesn't the 3ds do some weird hybrid emulation to run DS games?)

About 3, I'm not a linux fan, myself. I only use it when I have to :P Lazy like that. I was just giving examples of added functionality that could be present in a game system that were, more or less, in line with the hardware.

With 4, Nintendo has always built durable machines. I'm actually surprised that there have been so many people having issues with the video connectors in the 3ds coming loose...it's actually abnormal for one of their products to be so fragile....I included it in the list as a general statement.

I know that, with 5, technology begets technology and there's no way to make a console that will NEVER be obsolete...the very nature of technology demands that it improve upon itself. My point was they should use hardware that exceeds the expected needs so that as the console matures, the developers have more power and flexibility to work with before the end of the console's lifespan.

And 6...well, 6 is pure fantasy. I know they would never do another accessory like the SGB, but it'd be nice to see some real variety in what they DO come up with...With current motion technology and some ingenuity, a new Power Glove would be EPIC! ^_^
