No one need 15 after what they did with 13.

2 options based on rumors:
AMD based
both nPS4 and NX use custom chipsets based on latest AMD offer, plannig several millions each they can keep price for the chipsets relatively low, is a win-win situation for both.


ARM based
NX is based arm to easy compatibility with handheld building a crosse ecosystem for gaming.

in both cases NX will be cheap console hopefully in the range of 249 to 399 ,
nPS4 instead will be the "premium" sku for sony, both to support PSVr and 4K market, it will be in the raneg of 399 and 499 , if 399 and mounting a UHD BR player means sony eating a initial loss , or being profitable with 2 games.

which customer?
NX customer is primary a nintendo fan.
they do not care about specs, they care about gaming first, with the wiiu the core gamers reduced to the "real" core and most of whiners already abandoned nintendo.
secondary is a sony fan that needs a companion console ,X1 is too similar and costly, NX is the best gaming offer for the price and it's new.


nPS4 customer is primary a sony fan.
probably he will sell his old ps4 to buy it.
secondary is a ex X1 fan, if MS will not answer in this year it will be too late for them to wait and they will jump on Sony , selling the X1 for a nPS4.

Casual gamers?
no , they usually go mainstream and for them price cut on old ps4 is enough.

geeks, pc gamers, early adopters?
their choice is nPS4 , but alternatives could go Nintendo since the brand and the nostalgia factor, but they need solid games, ala fzero or Metroid to jump in.
Pc gamers coudl jump in fi PSVR will be good as promised since majority of pc gamers is not spending 2000$ for a good VR setup...

Conclusions:
NO
they are not competitors anymore.

at E3 anyway MS will at least promise something to keep quite fans... but since there are no real rumors like the PS4k ones it seems they gonna lose this generation.
generally speaking it seems they are focusing more on services than hardware lately...not answering Sony will be a bad sign for a future X2 ...

Arm still have their problem like too slow to do wii u emulation.
I think Nintendo can team up with microsoft for a change.
Say if ps4k can handle finally ps3 emulation...

Sony hasn't actually commented on the whole PS4 Neo thing, have they? All I know is that sites nowadays are willing to make stuff up to get clicks, and will even share their stuff with other sites to make it sound more believable. Just like with NX rumors, I'd rather get information straight from the horse's mouth than from the horse's ass.

I would like to see the day Sony debunks this rumor , but then we must label these sites like digital foundry and other that "confirmed" and spread the rumors as non reliable sites ...
But even in case a I think after few months we all forget about that fuss and continue reading these sites no matter what.

anyway on the other hand if even with "big" sites talking about this rumor as true if sony still didnt' reply is strange, this is not a normal rumor, a new console upgrade is potentially hurt your sales if not true.

I still think there is going be backwards compatibility, even if it isn't at launch. Wonder if the NX will stream 4K too.

they go under the belief that nintendo doesnt need such games such as: madden, fifa, nba2k, mlb the show, fes, call of duty, farcry, etc.etc. <snip> These games are needed for a console to survive because the truth is some people only play those games.

I literally only have my XB1 to play COD and sports games (Forza, NHL, NBA). If Nintendo had a system and internet service capable of running these games to the same degree of reliability that XB1/PS4 have, then I'd easily have it day one and not invest in their competitors.

just the fact the emily rogers moved to attack 10K is sign of 10K being right ...
She and the other insiders when the fake controller appeared kept silence ... because they know they were fake...otherwise if they move to attack another leaker that is not in their "elite circle" it means they are telling some truth here ...

in anycase emily rogers have been proven wrong so many times on her own rumors, and most cases she only retweet rumors from others to stay safe lately ...so not a person to trust ...

So the super powerful nx was still a possibility?

Kind of odd I lose hard against some casual with fps but obliterate them with Mario.

I'm "suited" to all genres. I have my Wii U for Mario, Zelda, DK, Star Fox, Splatoon, Pikmin, Smash, and other first and third party titles. But I also enjoy COD and sports. My point is if they simply had the right ecosystem to support those, they could "steal" at least a small chunk of Microsoft/Sony users. (As opposed to limiting themselves and underperforming. - there's no reason to not have these games available to a system in 2016)

EDIT: Also, I'm not selling the XB1 because I don't need to spend another $150 to upgrade to 4K and have to buy all new games. The reason I chose the XB1 over PS4 to begin with was controller and to play with friends anyways.

The thing that I don't get though is that 10K mentioned the gamepad would not have any processor... And Emily Rogers makes a good point there, at least: how do you play away from home if your device has no processor? Ninty is not going to make you hook up to a hot spot and stream from your home console over WiFi lol.

^exactly, Nintendo isnt just for the nintendo fan elitist, it should be for everyone. Somewhere along the way nintendo went the (under 10yr) children only route and forgot about everyone else. Not saying mario needs to go shadow the hedgehog with gun and everything but a more vast experience would be nice.

Remember both emily roger (he/she) and 10k (he/she) are both speculating also, but its not as baseless, well maybe not as baseless as this thread right here. They both could be wrong they both could be right.

Green = Microsoft
Blue = Sony
Red = Nintendo

I am talking about star wars.
Actually only the xbox symbol was green. Ps4 actually have blue light around and big n is always red.
